PlayStation 4 Emulator shadPS4
PlayStation 4 Emulator shadPS4 is an early PlayStation 4 emulator for Windows, Linux and macOS written in C++.
Overview
A PlayStation 4 emulator is software designed to replicate the hardware environment of the Sony PlayStation 4 console on a personal computer or other devices. It enables users to run PS4 games and applications without the original console hardware.
Current Status
PS4 emulation is still in active development. The PS4 uses a custom AMD x86-64 APU, which makes emulation technically challenging. Most emulators are not mature enough to run the majority of commercial games at full speed and perfect compatibility.
System Requirements for PS4 Emulation
- Modern multi-core x86-64 CPU with strong single-core performance
- High-end discrete graphics card supporting Vulkan
- Large RAM capacity, 16GB or higher recommended
- Fast storage such as NVMe SSD
